Library collection and focus

Health Studies Library was opened in September 2008 and houses more than 21 thousand volumes of books and bachelor and master theses by students of the Faculty of Health Care Studies. Qualification theses prior to 2011 are placed in the library depository and theses published after 2012 are available without restrictions in full-text in the UWB Digital Library (except for theses that have been granted an exception by the Dean).

The focus of the book collection corresponds to the disciplines taught at the Faculty of Health Care Studies. It contains literature on Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Orthotics-Prosthetics, General Nursing, Midwifery, Radiological Assisting, Paramedic Rescue and Laboratory Diagnostics in Health Care.

Periodicals with a medical focus are also available in the library.

Publications by the Faculty of Health Care Studies staff are on file in the library and can be borrowed for on-site study.

The book collection is provided in the form of an open shelf collection, including basic university textbooks for teaching all courses. Supplements of books are available at the circulation counter.
