The first visit to the library
- Register at the front desk - you will be asked to sign our reader application form
- The JIS card serves as a pass to all UWB libraries and study rooms
- Always present your JIS card at the counter
- In the open shelf area, books are arranged thematically, within each section books are arranged alphabetically by title
- Search for a specific book in the online catalog – you need to know the section in which the book is listed
- Books with yellow labels can only be checked out overnight, no earlier than one hour before the library closes
- You can borrow up to 30 books
- The loan period varies - you will find out when you borrow the particular title (usually a month or a semester)
- Books may be renewed for a maximum of three times the loan period, unless requested by another reader
- Books that are not currently available can be reserved
- It is not possible to check out 2 or more identical copies
- You can put money on your JIS card for photocopying and printing
- Do not take books that have not been checked out through the security gate
- The JIS card is non-transferable!
- Remember to return your locker key when you leave the library - lockers are for library patrons only
